How many other broadcasters have the balls to call Cubs fans "the most obnoxious in baseball"?

OKAY SFBBCH92, IT IS THROW DOWN TIME. If you have ever listened to one of our broadcast you would know Marty is my mentor, i have met the guy on several occasions, when he sees me he calls me by name and i grew up listening to him and the ole left hander. and Marty and Marty is just being Marty. He isnt a hall of famer for nothing, he knows his stuff and is and always will be the BEST in my book. i try to emilate him in my announcing and love to hear him call a game. I really think he gets along with "the cowboy" they just relate different than he and Joe did. Marty lost his best friend this past year, he told me one time in an interview that in the 30 plus years of announcing with Joe he remembers ONCE getting upset with him. give marty a break. He had over 40 years of broadcast experience, which is more than you and i combined and i have been doing this off and on since 1985. I was 6 when Marty joined the Reds, my dad picked me up from school, we heard him call Hank Aaron's 714 homer off Jack Billingham, i turned to my dad and said, I want to be like this guy and do that. so cut Marty some slack. we all talk about our co workers, he just has a different venue. Have a nice holiday weekend..lets just hope we hear "this one belogs to the Reds" for many more years to come.

Zoesdaddy I will not cut Marty some slack. The reason=he has 40 years or more of broadcast experience. In the past he has been a great, but this year it is just plain unacceptable and unprofessional.
I am not a Reds fan and listen to the games on the radio occasionally just because I enjoy the game of baseball. I also used to enjoy Marty doing the games. I do not however enjoy someone interjecting their hatred of another person let alone a co worker of theirs on a broadcast of a game I love to listen to.
You also make the arguement "we all talk about our co workers". Sorry I don't make it a point to talk about people behind their back.

We should just aggree to disagree then, I have to defer to Yellow Jack. Marty has the guts to call them like he sees them, shoot i wish he would hear one of our casts and rip me one for something stupid i have said. Brantley knows what is being said and bet he doesnt take offense to it

We will agree to disagree.
If Marty is such a call it how he sees it then why can't he see he is being unprofessional. You assume Brantley has heard everything Marty has said about him. You also assume Brantley doesn't care. Have you talked to him personally and asked him? I have not; like I stated in my other posts is my big problem about Marty this year is it keeps me from listening to game I love without hearing Marty complain and moan about a coworker.
We also don't agree on a team to cheer for.
Something we can agree on is it is a shame Joe didn't make in the Hall again this year.

atleast there is one thing we aggree on. i have talked to marty personally and YES he is VERY opinionated. when the Reds didnt resign Larkin as few years back I asked marty about it and his response was "good ridance" he was a bother in the locker room. same thing with Kearns."he wasnt hitting his weight why keep him". the only thing he did disagree with, but the fact they got pitching was the trading of Josh Hamilton (who by the way has Personally been a help to my family) when my oldest daughter was going through chemo is cincy he hear of our situation has his personal assistant call me and get the story. he sent my daughter and autographed picture, tickets, and a believe braclet. Josh is a Christain now and proclaims his faith, BTW he leads the American League in Home Runs. marty did say it was a shame they had to trade him, but needed the pitching. i would have traded Hopper, but that is why i dont make the millions to make those decisions. to get back to our "disagreement" i dont drink so i cant chat this with you over a beer (maybe an A&W Root Beer) but you should come on the z show sometime, we are wanting to get people on to talk about the big topics. email me sometime at zsportlive@yahoo.com and we can set something up. we do the show now on Saturday mornings from 10-11 at the Ottawa MCD, but changes are in the works to make the show more interactive.

Josh Hamilton is making the reds look like fools with how great of a year he is having right now.
Marty is very opinionated, but why ruin the games with personal attacks?
Even though I am not a Reds fan my favorite player was always Pete Rose. I have never seen a person put forth more effort (hustle) day in and day out.

TRUE ON PETE, got to see him play many times in person. deserves to be in the hall too, but that is a totally different agruement for some people.

Josh Hamilton
Salary: $396,830
BA HR RBI OBP SLG

Josh Hamilton has better numbers this year than any other OF the Reds have. This includes Griffey, Dunn, Freel, Hopper, and Patterson.
Why would you get rid of Hamilton if you could see if you could get any value of getting rid of Norris Hopper and/or the overpaid Corey Patterson?
Hopper
Salary: $402,500
BA HR RBI OBP SLG
.240 0 0 .321 .240
Patterson
Salary: $3,000,000 <-----Can you say over paid?
BA HR RBI OBP SLG

I do not understand why you deal one of your best players. If I were the Reds I would even consider moving some of the older under performing players instead of Hamilton.

WONbulldog:
Marty questioning calls by umpires he doesn't agree with not a problem with me. Marty giving his views on the way a player is performing not a problem with me. Marty giving his opinions on what he think the club should do to get better not a problem to me.
Marty bitching and moaning and being unprofessional about a coworker is a problem to me and makes him on the radio sound childish and unprofessional.
WONbulldog you are entitled to your opinion about Jeff Brantley. You can alsp make childish comments like your post "Sounds like a wasted sailor who wants his mommy", but you are not on the radio blasting a coworker and ruining the national pastime by being really unprofessional and taking away from the game.

Marty has always been opinionated, dont even get me started on the Josh Hamilton thing, as i have mentioned before, he took the time to personally have his assistant call me and get information on my daughter, Carmela when she was battling cancer, he sent her all sorts of Reds stuff and then they trade the guy. now he leads the american league in home runs

ok i didnt hear what he said about brantley, but he isnt the best of announcers they really didnt give "the bad boy" a chance beofe letting him go in favor of Thom. But i tell you it makes me smile when i hear Marty and Thom call a game together and Thom call Marty "dad". Dont know what it is maybe because me and my son have called a game together, but my bias comes out. i will defend my frind Marty Brenneman to the end.
I have ripped officials before as mentione in an earlier blog anyone that listened to the Grove girls district basketball game again swanton my "seh took three steps if she took four" call in reference to a non traveling call against on the of the Swanton Lady Bulldog players, was CLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAsic. (at least the Grove fans sitting in front of me got a kick out of it). so i rambled.....

HA HA HA
Anyone want to tell this kid where part of my name comes from?
And saying Brantley sounds like a wasted sailor who wants his mommy is childish? Listen to the guy!!! He is HORRIBLE! And i don't know how many children would get the reference to a "wasted sailor," so I think it is a lil' bit above childish. I don't persronally know any fans that think he is remotely decent for a broadcaster. Absolutely atrocious. "The Bad Boy" Steve Stewart smoked Brantley any day, and Stewart wasn't even that good.

Bullodg , if you were refering to me as a "kid" think you better look again, not sure how old you are, but i'm no kid. I grew up watching and listening to the big red machine, i heard Marty's first call as a reds announcer (Hank Aarons 714 against Jack Billingham) NO Matter what you say, He's the BEST!!!!! the cowboy does suck on the air. but in his defence and Stewert's look who's shoes their are having to fill...there is no one now or ever who will be able to replace Nuxie. Period.

Nah dude, was referring to the kid that said I am not on the radio blasting a co-worker. Many ppl know where my name comes from here at the RC. I think you may have misread some things. I love Marty. He's about all that makes the games worth listening to when the Reds royally suck. Thom is taking after his dad and making the games better, too.
