Gotta worry about Shawnee and Defiance first. If I remember right Defiance won the State ACME tournament and Shawnee was runner-up. Should be a good year for the WBL though.

Get those pitchers and catchers outside today, supposed to be over 40. Snow coming in, 2-4" Tuesday. Must be getting close to Spring time in Ohio. shrug2.gif

Now that the practices have started, how are things looking? Any surprises, new-comers?

Heard that Sterling is throwing in the 90's and hitting his spots. Also heard that they have a freshman that is throwing in the 80's and is also hitting his spots. Have several good prospects for utility players. Catching seems to be a concern. Just what I have been hearing.......

I also heard the chandler kid is looking pretty good
behind the plate. It"s alot to ask from a freshman but with hard
work he will be alright. goodluck Wildcats!

Shawnee will be tough, but Defiance is always a frontrunner. I was at the combine that F.A.S.T. put on, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Sterling was there and he only hit 84 a few times. There were a lot of kids there and I'm not sure exactly who he is but 84 seems to stick in my head. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

The boy's from shawnee said their radar gun is off by 6 m.p.h. You would think all the money they take from people that they could afford to buy a real gun $99 don't get much

i think bath will definatly be one of the top teams in the wbl this year...they have some great upperclassman talent and leadership. Cory Stephens and Matt McKinney have grown up playing ball together and the friendship can be seen on the field and off. The boys have been leaders not only in baseball but also in football and basketball. They both have great talent and are in talks with numerous schools to play ball at. In addtion to those two, whom i believe to be the two big leaders, they also have Zach Sterling. He is a fantastic player that really knows the game and is extremely strong. He hit a homer in a scrimmage the other day that hit the softball visitors dugout with the wind in his face. That is just three seniors. Many juniors and sophomores are also stepping up, especially Kevin Korkate and Scott Goedde. The Cats will be great this year, and will probably do well for the next couple years with all the underclassman talent coming up.
