Who are the best/better catchers in these leagues? A catcher can make/break a season.

For the NWC i can say they have a few good ones. Dysert (Ada), philpot( paulding) , yetmen( allen east) , Jefferson, LCC and crestview have descent catchers but i dont know there names.

For the GMC, radcliff from fairview is the only one i know of, and the kid has a cannon.

For the Wbl, now that burgoon is gone, im not sure who will fill in for defiance. The kid from shawnee is good.

Curt Yetman does a good job out in Allen East.

And in softball...

Stephanie Sanders, Soph. (Bath) was 1st Team All-State as a freshman.

Lauren Miller, Jr. (Shawnee) has really improved since her freshman year.

I think that James Frey or a young sophomore kid may fill in at Defiance.

Radcliffe has a cannon at Fairview and Keeterle from Holgate is solid behind the plate also. thumbup1.gif

Does anyone see a pattern here with Dysert, Radcliffe, and Meyer all being quarterbacks? Were any of the others quarterbacks?

Philpot from paulding isnt a QB, but he also doesnt have the arm as the others. I dont think yetman was a QB either.

From what I've seen in the past - Phlipot from Paulding gets rid of it pretty efficiently - he might not be as big as the other guys so he gets up and out quickly. If I recall he also has a receiver (Baron) on the other end that can flat out pick it and slap a tag down too which helps immensely. Don't underestimate this combo - very good.

You are correct , he gets rid of it really fast to make up for some on the lack of arm strength. He has a good arm, was just saying not the arms of the Qb catchers. Baron made some good snags this summer to help phlipot out, very fast at putting down the tag.

Dace Kime is the sophomore from Defiance. He will be the main catcher unless he is throwing from the mound. He came up last year as a Freshman when Burgoon didn't start the season on time and because none of the other catcher's could catch the ball when Tyler was bringing the heat. He ended up making Second Team All-District. Not bad for a kid who hadn't caught since he was a 12yr. old.

not sure bout guys for PCL but Allison McKean is a really good catcher from Continental. Does a great job catching one of hte faster pitchers around in Jessica Hanefeld. Last year Hanefeld was really good but a little wild. so allison had her hands full and did a nice job. i think hanefeld has worked alot in the off season and has improved immensley.

Yetman played Offensive line and deffensive end.
