I'm not one to pay attention to rankings, as I've said before....It's nice if you're ranked high, I guess, but has nothing to do with my perception on how a team is playing (as you may notice in where each of us stand in our yahoo standings, vic wink.gif ).....Anyway, I have believed OSU has been a very competitive team 'til now but was having some things that needed to be improved upon, which I saw a lot coming together last night....If they continue to play the way they did last night and keep improving, there's no doubt in my mind they are NC bound once again. They were looking tough!

wow! i did think the buckeyes would win, but not in that dominating fashion. they are looking very good right now, and who cares if no one gives them credit, this team reminds me of the 2002 national title team. we went under the radar the whole season, and then in the title game we were huge underdogs and won.

Schedule strength is the major difference.

Right now, Ohio St has the 68th toughest schedule, 8th in the Big 10. In comparison that would be good enough for 7th tougest in the Big East.
Every team in the PAC 10 and ACC has a stronger schedule and all but one SEC team does.

I see virtually NO comparison between this year and 2002. Other than that team was loaded with future NFL stars. There's a few dudes on the defensive side for this team but that's it.

Good win Buckeyes....Offense looked better but I still dont think its good enough....however, I dont think any Big Ten Offense can match OSU defense with one possible exception....

Vic,

Are you saying that there isn't one player on the offensive side of the ball that will ever play in the NFL?

Robiske & Wells will star in the NFL. And there`s some offensive lineman that will have their days in the sun too. BTW, let`s not kid ourselves, Boeckman has the size and strength that NFL scouts notice. Oh, and did I mention he has the brains also. Not saying he`s the next Joe Montana, but even being a 3rd stringer adds up to some big time cash in his wallet.
And if you think what I`m saying is crazy, please save my statements here and burn me at a later date. I`m sure I won`t even get a tan.

Boeckman reminds me a lot of Rothlesberger.

I'm talkin studs. Beanie Wells does not impress me. He's a nice college back but he's not gonna be anything in the NFL. Too slow without any moves and can't catch OR hold onto the ball and is too injury prone. I question his work ethic and love for the game as well. I think he'll leave after his jr yr and vanish like a fart in the wind.

Robiskie will make a roster. Barton and Boone should have nice careers.
Boeckman could be a 2nd day pick and hold a clipboard for a long time, which is not a slam by the way. Quality backups are very valued in the NFL.

Freeman, Jenkins, no problem. Russell and Washington could have nice careers. If Gholston can get on a workout program that doesn't include "supplements" he would be nasty. I wouldn't start Lauranitis on an NFL team if you held a gun to my head, but he is rated high at this point and should leave early.

Look at the 2002 team:
All these guys are still in the league; Simon Fraser, Mike Doss, Donnie Nickey, Matt Wilhelm, Will Allen, Adrian Clarke, Chris Gamble, Ben Hartsock, Mike Jenkins, Shane Olivea, Will Smith, Alex Stepanovich, Mike Nugent, Drew Carter, Bobby Carpenter, AJ Hawk, Nick Mangold and the infamous Maurice Clarett.

There are very few college teams that have EVER done that let alone sustained it in the league this long. They were super talented.

So are you saying that Boeckman is going to try to headbutt a car with his face? sarcasm.gif

And Vic, a guy like Aj Hawk is still in the NFL

We all know he was going around Greenville partying for their fantastic season. Any chance at the playoffs for the Waves?

I wasn't sure. Not sure if you remember him, but Rob Winner is my American History teacher and was talking earlier this year how it might have been possible. What did you guys end up at? 6-4?

Greenville won a game this season? What, did you get a win by forfeit? Or did you pick up a game against the school for blind kids again?

Heh heh heh...you know I am just razzin' ya' Greenwave. You weren't around earlier in the month to defend against my comments as to why Wapak was no good this year, so I have to find time to get under your skin by making fun of Greenville as best possible!!! smile.gif

Well, first i have to thank Wapak for taking Zimmer from us, it was a blessing..lol

Tigerball, the team actually went 4-6 against a tough schedule.. With Tipp City Atler Piqua and Butler the first four games... Three of those teams are in the playoffs aswell... We Beat Butler, but lost the next for.. The guys were 4-4, but lost 2 stright to Springboro and Sidney..
