Goin2goal yes you are right those guys you mentioned were amazing players all the credit in the world to them. But just because on the guys is from van buren played there and is now coaching there dosent mean you have to rip the young man apart. I believe he is only 20 years of age and he is a very very good fullback. One of the best i have seen. But from my understanding he played in hawaii hes junoir year and went and played a year there when he was a freshmen in college and came back. And now is coaching at VB so give the guy some credit. You cant hate on someone cause YOU personally havent heard anything about them. No hard feelings to you at all just stating my opinon

Soccer in Hawaii? In response to you watcher, just because someone plays in college does not make them a great player.

Vbwatcher, was saying that I, personally MYSELF, know that there have never been any local players in the national team. I've played for 24 years in this area and am not a passive fan. It would be big news if something like that happened. I was a freshman by the way when AJ was playing, so, yeah I know him & got to see him play on a daily basis. THAT was a GREAT player (46 or 47 goals his senior year against Findlay's schedule). I was playing in college when Chris Delaney was doing his thing, so no I don't know him. My brother played with him and one of my dudes dated his sister. So I'm well placed to speak of both.

No hard feelings at all VBwatcher. Against anyone.

Ok this is the reason i never get on this thing nobody talks about whats going on NOW everyone is worried about what went on in the past. Yes i did play in hawaii and yes i am trying out for a team. End of discussion if people dont want to think im good thats fine thats there opinon watcher leave it up to me to defend myself. And in response to jack bauer hes right just because you play in college dosent mean your the best player in the world. Im very fontunate to have played over there ive been there had fun now im here coaching. Yes i will try out for the Crew in May but it will be very very demanding to make a MLS team. Because they look at collegiate players and what college you played for. I had my oppurtunities to go play for colleges. And no they werent big schools like IU or UCLA schools that MLS teams really look at. So it will be tough watcher. Thank you for sticking up for me but i can handle myself. Lets just drop all this nonsense and talk about HIGH SCHOOL soccer this is supposed to be a HIGH SCHOOL forum right?

Thank you very much Rembrandt i appreciate that..and yes i know what you mean i get my stuff mixed up to hahaha...I just wish we would all stick to the topic here on Van Buren Soccer. I started this topic to talk about how we all thought Vb would do this year. Ive had a lot of insight to give to the boys this year but now its getting ridicilous were going way off subject here fellas. Lets let ME worry about my own problems not people like WATCHER. So back to the topic VB SOCCER?

LB is a great team that has experienced the loss of a good friend and teammate. VB also lost a good friend: Chaz Johnson, who died in his sleep of a seizure about a week ago. It has deeply affected the Junior class, especially J. Sublett and D. Baker. Both teams are using these pains to fuel the fire of their team and use it to defeat their opponent.
Let me be one of the first to personally tell you that, as a Varsity player, VB is fired up after a garbage goal loss to Riverdale. Rd was supposed to blow us away, but we stepped it up and nearly tied with them. We also have changed up our formation on the field so we have a stronger defense. LB is next on the hit list, and we will take everything we have from the ball to the bus in order to defeat the Eagles. We are going to ride the momentum we have created into tournaments.

Only bummer in the last games of the season is this: both B. Cooley and B. Baker have been declared ineligible as of Wednesday morning, the 10th. VB will have to find a new goalie to replace the two, which is going to be the main focus of the week ahead.

On a different note, as far as I know at the present time, Head Coach Tom Swaisgood has been hospitalized due to a particularly nasty inner-ear infection. He was being watched and was suspected of being at risk for a stroke, but is fine at the present time.

On a better note, congrats to the VB boys U-12 played in an Ottawa Glandorf tournament against Putnam County schools and came home with a first place trophy. Great weekend for the VB youngsters and hope they continue to play together in the years to come! They could be the future of the Van Buren dynasty.

Just heard that the U-15 boys took 1st place in the Findlay tournament this past weekend. Good job boys!

Was... I love this team but with the struggles of the last two years... the "dynasty" is on hiatus...

Let's get some facts straight about the year they went to the semi finals.
1. Kauffman is spelled Kaufman get it right if your going to correct someone.
2. The year they went so far, that teams core had been playing together since they were 8 and 9. The team was very competitve and had taken first in a lot of tournament when they were younger.
3. Dynasty please there was never a dynasty, they were just a group of kids who had been coached really well in the Black Swamp league.
Also I think it is sad when alumni get on and chat or argue with the old team members.

Just like you. You thirsty?

It looks like Knightmare07 was here long before many of these others...so I don't think that he joined just to brag.

and as far as scurred....It may be he was trying to spell something kids can read...
