What is going on with ottawa s legion team? Why so many kids on there team. Looks very disorganized but they have some talent.

it's a very young team, and they did not cut much this year.

Looks like a lot fewer kids were interested in playing now that Gene Steck is gone. I don't think they had to cut anyone. In some years there have been 40+ kids try out. Not the case this season.

they cut, at best, 5-6 guys. A chance for other players to get some extra time then.

The legion team played a great game against Findlay last night. They hit the ball well and played pretty good defense ( made a few errors ) third baseman Curtis Giese made some great plays. They capitilized on some poor play by Findlay. The starting pitcher Brandon Lucas struggled early but pitched 7 strong innings. Closer struggled but did the job. Good Luck this weekend keep rolling

Legion boys went 3 and 2 in tourney in Indiana. Lost first 2 then won consolation bracket for 3 rd place. Have a rematch with Findlay tomorrow night in Findlay then have fan appreciation night Friday. Come out and enjoy some good old baseball

Tournament starts tomorrow. How do you think the Fighting 63rd will do. Who is pitching for them tomorrow.

well unless something crazy happens to all of Napoleon's players I don't see Ottawa getting by them.

The Head coach quit during the season in which the Ottawa 63rd is 13-15. Patrick Henry's Clay Maas is 21 years old (maybe) and is coaching the team. Decent record considering all of the tumult that has surrounded this season.

How is Ottawa doing in the District Tournament? I read in the Defiance paper that Napoleon will be playing Toledo in the winner's bracket finals on Saturday with the finals scheduled for Sunday in Findlay. I don't understand why the finals are not played in Ottawa. Their field, grandstands, and environment are so much nicer than Findlay. They would get a much larger crowd if the finals were played in Ottawa. Napoleon is loaded this year. They are going to be hard to beat.

I don't know if it's the same for their district but the field rotates between the teams every year for the tournament

Napoleon beat Whitehouse today to advance to state. I'll agree about the tourney. Findlay's field is horrible, especially on a 95 degree day. Can't believe the district folks don't play the game at Memorial Field
