The rematch of last year’s district final at Elida is set, with Ottawa-Glandorf (22-2) and Liberty-Benton (23-0) squaring off at 3 p.m. at the Elida Fieldhouse. Liberty-Benton knocked off the Titans 72-58 in the district final last season, and edged the Titans 49-41 on Dec. 29, 2014.

The lady titans are due.

I can't wait to get set up and call this one tomorrow afternoon, was a fun one the first time around but I think there will be a different outcome this time around.

OG had that game until near the end when they gave up a couple of buckets late and a pair of trips to the line that proved to be the difference.

The OG girls have made at least 3 trips to the regionals under former Coach Smith but not being able to make it out. Maybe this year will be different, but the LB coach is very wily, and has been there before. Should be a decent crowd, but unlike
the boys following I would expect LB to have the bigger crowd......keep us posted...RM

I was at the first game and thought Irwin was the difference in the outcome .

This has been a while coming for Lady Titans, but got over the hump today. What a game by Schroeder, Hempfling & all the Lady Titans. Zebra-types whose opinions I trust say we should be favored next two games as well

Tough rematch for LB. Congrats to LB on a great year. My guess is their lack of guard play finally caught up with them. Heigle has been great all year, but need more than one to get it done in tourney.

Congratulations to Coach Troy Yant and the Lady titans on the district championship.

I thought the difference in the game was OG played 10 players and LB used about 6. After LB jumped out to a 20-9 1st qtr. lead The Eagles looked gassed in the 2nd quarter and had no answer for the run OG made to take the 30-24 lead into halftime. LB recovered and made the 3rd qtr. a stalemate, but OG's depth and athleticism took over in the 4th qtr. Kady Hempfling is one hell of a player, to perform they she did in the 2nd half as a freshman in a district final, that put the titans over the top IMO.

Post Player-Big time players step up in big time games. OG 's athleticism will pressure you all over the court and guard play will be suspect. Did not see any sense of urgency or leadership from the bigs of LB.

I would tend to agree Falcon. Congrats to OG.

I hear what you're saying, but to be fair, OG played 8 players and LB played 7. The difference, as someone said, was OG's depth and substitution pattern; it was a revolving door with players constantly going in and out. They were fresh and rested and it helped with their pressure defense. Very athletic and quite opportunistic when it came to loose balls and long rebounds.

Hiegel hit the running 3 at the 1st quarter buzzer to put LB up 20-8, and then OG promptly went on a 15-0 run to start the 2nd, en route to outscoring them 22-4 in the quarter. Mind boggling to note that OG outscored LB 49-21 over the final 3 quarters.

OG scored the first 17 points of the 2nd quarter, a rarity. LB generally plays a 2/3 zone, so I doubt depth had much to do with it. OG was able to execute their 1/2 court offense, a girl got hot with the 3 ball, they forced turnovers. Also, they got some points under the hoop, not usually done vs. LB with Kotey patrolling the paint.
