Just trying to get a gauge on how many of our members or readers own a smartphone?.........In my daily travels it seems like everyone has one of
these devices. The days of just having a cell phone to communicate is so passe'

If you own one, is it an IPhone, Droid, or some other operating system?........and finally, is anyone interested in having a RocketCorner App for their PDA?.......Also, does anyone have knowledge of what it takes to get one of these "apps" and the cost involved?.......

Since I just got a cell phone myself a few years ago, I'm kinda on the outside of all this new technology and how it works...........But I certainly want the RC to stay abreast of what our members want and need in this ever-changing media society.........let's hear it!

I have a Droid now. A buddy of mine and fellow RCer looked at making a scoreboard type app for us to use instead of texting. That would be a great start. Also look into having RC avaliable on Tapatalk. Itmakes using chatroom/forum type websites much easier and quicker.

Just got an Iphone......no clue how to use it. Need to get the 13 year old granddaughter over here to teach me a thing or two about it. Would definitely use a RC app, if I can ever figure out how.

as a matter of fact

it just seems to me that the younger generation is more geared to this method of social media.....
Slicer has this thing for younger men so this could be a way to keep them entertained while they're
here visiting the RC.........

the "app" thing is something that sis and I have been kicking around for awhile.......I guess I was
just trying to gauge interest and see if it would be worth an investment of time, effort, and money..

I got a LG smart phone thru Sprint last November and just love it! Greatest thing since sliced bread! A RC app would be cool! IMO a smart phone is easier to use then a regular one! The hardest thing is to actually make a phone call LOL I text a lot and use Facebook and even get on the RC thru the browser!

I was looking into upgrading mine to the droid 2 'cause Walmart has it for 10.00!!!!!

I know.....they're up to the droid 5 now, but, for 10 bucks, i was gonna get it...... problem: i still have almost 'nuther year on my currect contract.

BUT! I will be getting a REAL smart phone then....shoulda just done it when i was debating this one...... shoulda known i wouldn't have been satisfied with less....

haha!! i have a web-abled phone (a.k.a 'dumb phone') , but, it's not a 'smart phone'~~i've been informed (Thanks obie!!! <-----my mobile technician!!!

I'm still not sure what the difference is in mine (enVTouch) & the 'real' smartphones ...although, i do think the name of mine aided in my decision though.

.. lol.....

i just know i want one 'cause right now i can access the web , but, i find it pert near impossible to post if i have someting i want to post from my phone when i can't access my PC.(RC specifically)

<-----which will certainly be cause for a petition against my getting a smart phone, or at least against the RC getting an app that my phone could possibly access where i could talk even more here than i do now.....lol

also, RM....it was just pointed out to me recently by an old school buddy of mine how my interest/history has never really favored the 'younger men' ....(to his dismay) ....... just sayin'

I use the iPhone! Totally in love with this cell,
I would use the RC app but with the iPhone
You really don't need it. I'm typing right now
On my cell and my screen looks the same
As it does on my computer at home!!

Slice....do not, under any circumstances buy a phone (especially something as advanced as a Droid) from Walmart. Walmart has cut deals with Verizon that even the Verizon stores (and other dealers) can't match which is why they can offer the prices that they do. Verizon stores (or dealers) are not required to help you in any way if you purchased you phone from Walmart.....and you will find out real quick that the Walmart employees will have no idea how to help you. They don't take the required training that Verizon stores or dealers go thru. You'll regret the decision forever.
