Shawnee could potentially win 103, 112, 119, 125, 130, 140, 160, 285. Don't think they have enough strength in the upper weight classes though to beat Elida as a team. (current 103,112,119,125,130 were all Allen county champs or runner ups). Shawnee looses big points in upper weights if Elida pins through.

103-K. Plaugher (S) vs Overhalt (E) , I'll take Plaugher here, has head to head win at County 14-5
112-T. Plaugher (S) vs Murphy (E), Again, Plaugher with head to head win at County 6-2 at County, however Murphy seems to be a different wrestler right now, could be close.
119-B. Croft (S)/Arthur(S) vs Arbogast (E)/Pauff(E), This may be where the match is determined. Coaches games play big role. Croft beats both Elida wrestlers and Pauff beats Arthur while Arthur takes Arbogast.
125-Croft/McDermitt (S) vs Pauff/Arbogast, Either way Shawnee wins this weight. Croft has head to head against Pauff at County and I think has gotten out of his "funk".
130-McDermitt/Miller (S) vs Troyer (E), Miller/Troyer match could be exciting, I would give the edge to Miller. But if you put McDermitt here it is a win for Shawnee. Bump Miller up to 35 and get another win.
135-Miller (S) vs ?
140-Trent (S) vs Dunlap (E), They have not met this year, however Trent seemed to fair much better against Wiseman of Wapak. Not sure how their styles match up. Look for Trent to come out slow. If he doesn't turn it on by second period, Dunlap should get the win. Will be close.
145-Not sure who either team will put out but will take Elida in this one
152-Elida
160-Delamotte (S) vs Dukehart (E). Delamotte has been out most of season. Has head to head win against Dukehart from last season, don't know how that plays into either wrestlers mental game. Could be close, will take Delamotte if his stamina is up to par.
171-Elida
189-Elida
215-Elida
HVY-Adkins (S) vs Nate Sackinger (E). Adkins with one point victory at County. Will be another nail biter between the two. Too close to call.

Final- Elida 38 Shawnee 21

Thats a good point after all of Shawnee dropping weights its hard to say where they will go. According the the schedule their next week seems to be pretty action packed who knows if they can keep the weight off that long and still compete well.

OK, I was close.

103-Shawnee voided
112-Plaugher beat Murphy but it took some work.
119-Shawnee voided
125-Croft beat Pauff, another close match, came down to Croft being able to ride Pauff out the entire second period
130-McDermitt wins
135-Miler wins
140-Trent comes out quicker than I expected but I think in response to Dunlaps aggressiveness. Dunlap gets the win.
145-Green get the easy pin
152-Elida with the 6 point win
160-Dukehart just too strong for Delamotte. Gets the win.
171-Sackinger with the win
189-Elida get another 6 points
215-Another 6 for Elida
285-Sackinger gets his revenge and beats Adkin

152 - Slife (SM) did pin Smith (E) in prd 2 (with Smith leading). Smith slipped on a move and got caught, good job by Slife to keep him there. But, I think if you look Slife doesn't have a great league record outside of that. Martinez pinned Slife in the same super tri... That is Smith's only WBL loss to someone figured to wrestle at 152. Smith did lose to Masillo (VW) but that would be it as far as I know. I guess either way you've got to work your way through the bracket regardless of where they put ya...

An OG parent told me that Seifker is going down to 160 after his loss last week. Not sure if that is for the WBL tourney or just the sectional run.... but with only 1 160 match under his belt will he come in unseeded to protect himself if he doesn't make wieght, I would bet so..

Otherwise I think it looks pretty close.

Really looking forward to the weekend. Like WBL's because gives us a heads up on who to look for at districts. I can't imagine there are too many weight changes for leagues, more maybe for districts. Thinking maybe Seifker will drop to 60 at sectionals, 71 looks pretty stacked at his district. I know the WBL web site posts the results usually the next day or so, but I have to leave the league tourny early around 2ish, will any one be online that night after finals to post top 6 placers? shrug2.gif Also, I see the league tourny is no longer on Baum's page. Will there be a site posting seeding?

That sucks, having to leave prolly before semi's... I will prolly be online, but im not sure how I will do with posting results but I will try my best... As far as teams go, I think it will be all Wapak... Then Elida, Bath, Shawnee

Thank you sirrefman, yeah have to be in Columbus @ 4pm. Really hate missing the leagues. I agree with you, it should be all Wapak winning leagues and sectionals. Not sure that they have deep enough roster to take districts. Shawnee must rely on 103, 112, 119, 125 all placing top two. They then really need Miller, Trent, and Delamotte to step up their game if they want to place top three as a team. They could do it I think because Bath seems to have lost some of their MoJo. I think Elida is a clear second, they have a lot of guys that are top four but I don't think too many in for 1st/2nd. Interested on seeing how Braden Miller from St. M's does. He has had a great year.

My prediction for top three teams:

1) Wapak- too much depth. Closest dual was 57-21.
2) Elida- Only loss to Wapak during the season.
3) Bath- Edges out Shawnee. Shawnee is front loaded, but Bath has kids that can score at more weight classes.

I'm interested to see just how many weight classes Wapak can win. They should win four, and have a good chance at taking five more. This could be the most lopsided WBL tourny ever! Either way, I expect to see some great wrestling on Saturday!
I ignore Spongefag and Turn&Blow. :)

I have to agree with you about that... Elida and Bath's dual was pretty close, but I think all in all, they will be able to get more bonus points and grab 2nd, but in tourneys it always seems like dual results mean nothing... As far as Bath, they have had a uphill battle this year, alot of young kids, injuries, kids quiting. But they have a few solid top two placers... Mault, Chandler, Bible, Kiracofe, Keyner... But will need some young ones to step up.. Ingram, Mack, Wise, and a solid performace and bonus points from the rest of the team... Should be a GREAT day!!!
