Yup, believe it or not, I still make my appearances on here! I hope everybody is doing well and has had wonderful holidays!!

In case nobody hasn't been keeping up on the news, I have a good friend, Curt Yetman (Former AE football and baseball player, also baseball coach Bill Yetman's, son) I went to school with at Allen East that is in the military and on Friday, his platoon was attacked by Taliban forces... He was patrolling in a tank when he was hit by an IED and the tank blew up and he was trapped inside... When they got him out, he was on fire.. Luckily he's still alive. He's suffering from 2 broken legs and 3rd degree burns over 44% of his body, and some critical lung damage. He was in a hospital in Germany for a few days and is making his way back to Texas today... Just hoping to maybe get some support for him, his family, the doctors and pilots that are bringing him back and keeping him safe.. If anybody follows on Facebook at all, here's a link "support" group... T-Shirts are being sold and all tributes are going to the family so they can make it to San Antonio to be with him today and for however long they need to stay. Any support would be greatly appreciated! Much love and God bless!

Curt is on his way to the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX which is a state of the art burn center where he will receive the best care anywhere. It's going to be a long, tough road for him and his family so they need our prayers to help get them through.

Designed these based off of what Bill said tonight on the front, thoughts on the back. PFC Yetman is what Curt is known in the military ranks as, and what we will be doing Pray For Curt Yetman. The Man Up on the front is what Curt did, what no one else would want to...and what we need to do...LIFT THE "MAN UP" to Christ...I am gonna talk to Bill about selling these shirts and all proceeds go to the family...thoughts?

I haven't found a price, but, this is all of what I do know for now.

*edit:
from what i can tell, it appears to be on a donation basis.....

QUOTE
Yetman
After the Prayer Vigil last night, my mind began to race…how can we assist the Yetmans in this long journey. I am ordering the MAN UP shirts today, in which all proceeds will go directly to the Yetmans (for travel and personal needs). I spoke with Bill this morning and my question was…does the military pay for your travel? Bill said that the army pays for Curt’s mom and Bill to get down there. Many of you that know the Yetmans know that there are other members of the fam that need to get down there as well! Bill’s wife Penny, daughter Brooke and others. I truly feel that none of these travels should be at the families expense, and my suggestion is that we create an urge to cover these. Curt was willing to sacrifice his own well being for our freedom…I know we can sacrifice a little…to assist the family in being by Curt’s side! Click the button below to donate…..

PFC Yetman (Praying For Curt Yetman) If you are interested in making monetary donations to assist in the travel expenses and personal expenses of the Yetman Family... you can either do two of the following-
1. Make a Check Payable to:
MAN UP
3463 Georgian Ave
Lima, Oh 45806
2. Donate online at http://www.tugtaviano.com/yetman
3. call me at 419.236.3107

I'm going to order ours now & will relay what I find out.

This is the most important thing and they all will continue to receive prayers from here.

Was at the prayer vigil last night. Just heartbreaking listening to Bill tell the story. Thought he showed unbelievable strength to get up there and speak like he did. I just don't know that I could have held it together as well as he did. I thought it was a tremendous show of support by the community in support of a courageous young man. Hang in there Curt........we're all pulling for you.

Hope Matt, Tracey & Ross will make it in Friday. Curt had a great day. Eating a littlle, talking more, affect a little better. Each day is a blessing! Handling PT a lot better. Very, very weak. Please keep Curt & family in your thoughts & prayers....How terribly heartbreaking this must be for everyone close to him, besides the excrutiating pain Curt is having to endure...... i can not imagine what the parents are going through having to watch their son go through this feeling so helpless to be able to make it 'all better'...... God bless them all.

Sat. 11:45 am. CST. Matt, Tracey & Ross got here! Brightened Curt's spirits. Still no secondary infections with grafts. Doctors are very, very happy. Depression seems to set in, come evening time. Trying to process everything and misses his platoon. Goes from recanting the firefights & casualties to becoming a college student. Breaks our heart! (from Bill)

Might sound strange after all that's happened but I miss being a machine gunner in 1st platoons weapon squad. I'd go back if I could. I'm not one for being cooped up in a hospital.
