Craft will do just fine at OSU.

Some of you may have a short memory but I do not. The poster Victorian is the same guy that said Jon Diebler wouldn't log much playing time at Ohio State. Now, that prediction didn't pan out all that well for him either did it?

Just because Diebler is logging minutes doesn't mean I would play him.
He is so one dimensional it's pathetic.

Thanks, I appreciate the fact that you remembered I said he wouldn't be anything at OSU.

If Thad decides to start a true point guard it will be Aaron Craft. He is better than anyone they ran at the point when Turner wasn't last year. He is also a player that will be there 4 years which is very rare this day and age .

Honestly, who cares what Victorian thinks? The guy's just an OG fan that spews anti-LB remarks whenever he gets the chance. Now if Aaron had played at OG we might be hearing a different tune from him.

As a matter of fact, it doesn't matter what any of us here say or think. The fact is Aaron was offered a scholly from tOSU. Thad Matta believed he was good enough and Aaron accepted. Aaron is currently enrolled in his 1st fall quarter of classes and has recently just begun official practices. He's the strongest guard on the team and has set a new bench record for point guards. He also is the 2nd fastest on the team in the mile at 5:03. He is the fastest on the team at the 3/4 court sprint (basketball's equivalent of a 40 yard dash). So from a workout standpoint, you can see he's one of the best on the team. Skillwise is an unknown, even though Aaron works on his game as hard as he does in the weight room. Playing against former players like Turner, Mike Conley and Greg Oden can't hurt. He's working his hardest to prove doubters like Victorian wrong and that he's perfectly capable of playing at that level.

He's there and will almost certainly earn playing time. Off the bench or starting doesn't really matter. He'll play D1 basketball as a true frosh, something none of us has ever done. Its done and over with. The scholly was offered, Aaron accepted. Now debate on who the starting 5 will be, not if Aaron deserves the scholarship.

I wouldn't have offered the Pollitz twins full ride schollies to D1 schools either.

Not a Ohio St supporter, but will be for the next 4 years. You would hope people would be pulling for a kid from NW Ohio to be successful.

Who said I wouldn't be pullin for him?
I'm down on Weatherspoon and Sullinger too, that doesn't mean I want to see them fail.

Sullinger needs to get off some of the baby fat. Kid has GREAT hands. Weatherspoon can jump out of the gym. But they all are freshmen. We shall see.

Craft is D1 [OSU], your point guard is D3. GOT IT.

LJ

at the risk of sounding dumb...what does that have to do with playing time as a freshman??That D3 freshman has a RING and knows he won the battle that night!!That just makes me wonder how will McCamey be controlled when Kirkman wasn*t?

Sully has great hands, decent passer, decent shot, decent footwork, no hops, no length.
Spoon can jump. That's it.

Exactly what everyone is trying to point out. excl.gif What ever you predict the opposite will probably happen. wacko.gif
You were correct with the Pollitz boys, but they had great careers at Bluffton College! sarcasm.gif

Cubby,
"Sullinger needs to get off some of the baby fat."

You would be shocked what he looked like as an 8th grader. He is progressing just fine!

So the only person in your eyes who does have any credibility is Charlie Coles?
They were a package deal, even Findlay refused to take that deal.

Sullinger has lost 15-20 pounds since reporting to the start of camp. He's still a hoss, but looking much better. As the season progresses his weight and stamina will only improve. Lauderdale had the same when he first arrived and Thad took care of that problem then, he will now to.

I agree that Eric was a borderline DI-player at best, but Tim was a beast. If I recall correctly, he was one of the Top 2 vote getters for MAC POY his senior year. He wasn't the biggest, strongest, or most skilled, but he found a way to put his stamp on every game he played down there.

Lauderdale was in much better shape in high school than what Sully was.
I think JS will always battle with weight issues, but we will see.
