AP Poll

Maybe I am biased a bit, but how is a 14-0 Elida team not in the Top 10?......... mad.gif ......... cool.gif

Doggoneitanyway,
Beating Lincolnview, Miller City, Ottoville, Spencerville, and LCC is not gonna get it done Dawg.........they can't have the same type of schedule like they usually do in basketball and be recognized by the pollsters.............maybe Flounder and I should do a baseball poll also? rolleyes.gif.........when they start scheduling Start, Madison, and even the Coldwater's maybe a little press will come their way....next to OG's schedule, EHS has the weakest one of the bunch...............zooooom

Dog,
Upon further review, I see that Elida "might" play 5 schools larger than themselves......

Lima Sr.
Findlay
Celina
Wapakoneta
Defiance

now take a look at their non-league.....

Grove
Ayersville
FJ
Ottoville
Fairview
Leipsic
LCC
Paulding
Bryan

throw in the other WBL schools.............OG, Bath, VW, Kenton, St. Marys, Shawnee

and I'll give you that Coldwater and PH are quality opponents though considerably smaller............and that folks is why Elida is not ranked ................zooooom

I think elida should be ranked no matter what. A 14-0 record is a 14-0 record no matter who you play...well as long as the schedule is resonabaly balanced which i think Elida's is. They are a very good team and will probably win the wbl. Poll voters need to get their head where the sun dont shine and get a clue about some teams they are leaving out... Especially in the D 2 softball also. They left out a 9-0 celina team that is out scoring their opponents like 109-2! Give me a break of that B*S* call lol@! blink.gif

Rocketman, I don't think Elida plays Miller City. Also, Miller City isn't a pathetic baseball team. I think you mentioned something on another thread about how O-G pounds teams like Miller City, but I'm sure MC has a winning record in the last 20 years, and probably even the last 10 against OG. MC has a good record this year and I believe they've gotten to districts quite a bit recently (not to mention the great tradition with two state titles)...I think you're thinking of their basketball team when you keep making these comments.

PCL,
You're right about the sport...........MC has a great baseball tradition..........but it has taken a little bit of a hit since the "man in coach's shorts" stepped down...... smile.gif sorry about the confusion on that part.........

I have to agree with rocket, even though I feel a team with a 14-0 record should be ranked and recognized, they need maybe 2 teams that are bigger than them to ger more recognization...This would help prove to the voters that they can beat good teams...

Seeing as Elida has run-ruled almost half of their opponents, I think they are proving they are capable of being a Top 10 Team........Yes, they beat Patrick Henry, wait, no, they SMASHED PH......10-0?........Hell, they are #8 in D3!.........Shawnee beat St. Henry (#1 in D3) last night 6-2 and Elida layed the smack down on the Indians......7-1! (not to mention Kyle Miller's impressive 3 HR's)..........NW Ohio cannot be overlooked as far as Athletics go........especially from the WBL......no matter what sport!.......... dry.gif ........... cool.gif

The softball poll came out too....not trying to sound like a homer BUT I'm sorry how does Defiance with at least 4 losses (not positve of exact record) come out ahead of Bath who's undefeated?? blink.gif dry.gif Personal opinion here but that just goes to show how little the polls really mean. No offense to Defiance intended but that just sounds nuts.

Last night was Elida's worst offensive output of the season......but the FACT is that they did WIN.......Rocket, did you not just read my post about them beating "good" teams?..... rolleyes.gif ........Hopefully this gives the guys even more motivation to prove these "pollsters" wrong!!!........... cool.gif

Celina Lady Dogs softball is now 16-0 after defeating a very good Parkway team in 12 innings, then defeating #4 state ranked Lima Bath 1-0 in 7, then defeating #3 state ranked Div I Pickerington Central and Div I Sylvania Southview ...all in the same week! I'd say the lady dogs should be getting some recognition from the Big Boys now. Pickerington/Sylvania were upset Celina wasn't ranked...didn't look so good getting beat by a Div II unranked team.
