Maltese, you may be in the minority here, but not without others agreeing with you. I also think that better surveillance should have been used before busting in. Before anyone jumps, I do understand the use and need for force and the surprise factor. BUT from different articles I have read and interviews listened to, the subject of the raid was observed away from the house at various times. Why was this time not used to apprehend him. I will admit to not knowing all the facts (as everybody here has to admit whether they are pro or con) and possibly the police had a reason for the raid at the time they did. No one will ever know unless they speak up.

I can agree with the timing of this situation being in question. None of us have the answer to that 2.5 million dollar question.

However, if the poiliceman who fired that fatal shot would have just stood there and not had an reaction to what he must have thought was a dangerous situation, then what? What if she or someone else had a firearm and had unloaded on him and took his life? If that would have taken place and that officier would have been killed would his wife and children have collected 2.5 million?

Policemen are the people that are hired to protect us, yet when one of them dies in the line of duty do their families get a pay off? Do we give their children a free education? I have yet to hear of a case where a murdered police officier's family found any profit in his or her's death while trying to protect the public.

They went there with a SWAT team, so their intent was to not only capture him but probably to get some drugs of weapons to nail him with. If they only wanted to arrest him, they would indeed have waited until he left or simply surrounded the house and told him to come out with his hands up. As for waiting until the kids weren't there, I think the one shot was younger than school age so he would probably not had a set schedule and would be there often. Besides, could you expect a police department to schedule raids around the schedules of criminals? (and yes, if she was living there with a drug dealer with drugs in the house, she is a criminal too)

Just finished watching the early news that had highlights of the Tarika Wilson candlelight vigil & a helium balloon released into the air that said, "Congrats" on it........ Wonder what that's about?

That was exactly what I thought.....and also, how inappropriate, especially when the 'brother' was on there saying how the money wouldn't be helpful to any of them....... It sure didn't look good on their part.

Also found it interesting how 'Downtheriver' was speaking on behalf of Darla Jennings......I'm sure that decision was made because of her inability to control herself as she's demonstrated in the past......
