A little bad blood between these 2 teams huh??? The Ulrey kid was pretty fired up after the game.
Props to the Wollenhaupt kid from Delphos sitting in front of me...had his "rally hat" on before the bottom of the 7th even started...he knew!!:D
Great high school baseball game!

The Ulrey kid was fired up because the DJ kid cussed at him after the game was over, your don't want to know what it was. Delphos played a good game and most of their kids responded well but it only takes a couple of bad eggs to ruin a evening like that. I don't know how much more crestview could have done over the 2 games. They led DJ for 6 1/2 of the seven innings the first game and 6 1/2 of seven innnings of the second game and still only get a split. Tough loss, I thought it was a crime that these 2 could not have faced off at state instead of district finals. They might have been each others only stopper for a state championship. I found it interesting when you looked at the starting linups on the field, that it looked like David and Goliath with DJ and their 9 starting seniors and Crestview with only 4, Balliet is the only one tall enough to look the DJ lineup in the eye. Like the first game it will be talked about for the ages.

Delphos Jefferson in my opinion is a very talented team, but they have no class, so screw them..i hope they lose in regionals.

Hard loss to take, Crestview led the whole way and lost without an opportunity to come back. It would have been almost easier to loose from the begginning. I think there is a sense the Jefferson didn't do enough heavy lifting to deserve the win after they only led in their half of the 7th inning of each game. Jefferson better win it all because it will be a long time before they get a class with this many athletes. The only challenge they should have will be Patrick Henry at state semi's. They won't see another Crestview at Regional.

3/16/09 - "I would really love to know why Africentric has Africa on their jerseys...really? I mean we are in the United States"
3/20/09 - " The officials in this game sucked..."
3/24/09 - " They should have just 'let'em play' in the state semis, but no... they had to screw the Lady Knights with fouls...damn refs."
And Delphos Jefferson is the one with no class? lol, DJ may not be perfect, but look in the mirror.

By his posting name he obviously is a high school kid so he will mature, kids tend to not measure their words very well

good attitude.... your obivously from the NWC and you want DJ to lose in Regionals .... I realize that you are probably mad because of what was said in the District finals and i agree that it shouldn't have been said.... but you should learn to forget i still have a lot of respect for Crestview and you should for Jefferson they are high school athletes with one thing in mind durning the playoffs .... a state championship... If crestview would have held on and won the game i would be rooting for them to go to state because they are from the NWC .... when is the last time an NWC team has won a state title in baseball ? You should be happy that two NWC teams played in the finals after they beat teams from the mighty mighty MAC. lol.

Not meaning to rip on him or anything, but as many good teams as he has had...they sure do fluff it up a ton in District finals...nearly ever year.

At Crestview they call it the Coldwater curse. Whether it's Division 3 or division 4, Acme or School, Coldwater is cursed. It seems no matter what decision is made it backfires, no matter how solid the logic. Last year Crestview was in position to do what DJ did when DJ had to use Rahrig in semi's which meant they could not use him in finals. All Crestview had to do was get by a weak Fort Recovery team in semi's to challenge DJ and they loose it on a fluke hit at the bottom of the order. There was alot of NWC pride on display Friday, at one point too much. As I said earlier, it's too bad this wasn't a state final. I would think that with 10 starting talented seniors at Jefferson, Crestview performed quite well. I think regionals will be a cruise for DJ and the game for state will be State semi's against what I would expect to be a good Patrick Henry squad.

It's actually quite ironic when you look at how many times it has happened to Crestview in District finals. I feel bad for them actually.

heard of Newark Catholic and Toronto?
Have not but by the look of the brackets they would not face them till they faced last years state champs in state semi's

agree, quite ironic. Something to note. The NWC has come out of this district the last 3 years. LCC 2 years ago with Kotenbrock, DJ last year and the all NWC final this year. NWC is starting to make headway but still has some work to do. Crestview scrimmaged Patrick Henry at the beginning of the year and led them all the game till the last inning, once again loosing in the last at bat. Clay hit one over the fence on the very first pitch of the game but they got him back on the last at bat.

Early in the season Miller City won 8 to 3. Earlier this week Miller City no-hit Leipsic and won in 6 innings 10-0.
I heard there was a big crowd at the game and Leipsic dominated the game, but had to win in 8 innings.
Good luck to the Vikings as they must play the mighty PH Patriots!!

Your right, you don't know what I'm talking about, never mentioned St. Henry specifically. Crestview has always struggled at Coldwater whether it's acme or Knights, bad luck. Haven't made it out of a Mercer county district since Acme state team 6 years ago. Coach Wharton could not have done anything Friday night, he coached a good agressive game, he just ran out of innings.

You beat New Knoxville and New Bremen. I'll give you a virtual thumbs up for that.
I know niether team pitched their ace tonight, but Coldwater rolled over Jefferson, 9-1.

How could someone have an opinion on division IV baseball in Ohio but not know that the green wave have a monopoly on the state title? Leave the predictions to somone who has been outside the van wert/ lima area
Learn what the word monopoly means. Last I saw there was no "Green Wave" as defending state champions this year. I think that belongs to Patrick Henry "Patriots"

Not going to say anything bad about Coldwater, I think Coldwater is probably the best division 3 team in the state. Solid top to bottom and Klenke is good. We think that NWC is solid in division 4 though, not saying nobody else is good but we believe in how we played this year.
