I would have an effigy of Art Modell and kick it in the groin every day.

I would have the following on speed dial:
Bill Cowher (I think he likes TV too much to coach again though)
Marty Schottenheimer
A Psychiatrist for B. Edwards
Bernie Kosar...please Bernie-buy this team-it needs an owner that cares...
Suicide Hotline.......

If you were Randy Lerner you would be in England watching your futbol team instead of paying attention to your football team. Hey whats the big idea fortfan starting a rival thread? You know where to go to bang on the sorry Browns!

I did not write this but I think it sums up everything

Dear Mr. Lerner,

First of all, I know you're a business man and you have many businesses to run. But why are you not taking a more proactive role in the debacle which is the Cleveland Browns? I hope, to a higher power, that you are aware of what is happening within this franchise because it is crashing to the ground faster than Romeo Crennel pulling Brady Quinn for Mr. Inaffective Derek Anderson.

I am a lifelong Browns fans and I am extremely unhappy with my current attitude toward this team and season and I have yet again begun to focus on what may happen in the off season. Why is it that every year (with the exception of last year), I am more excited about the possible changes in the off season than what goes on during the actual season? I cannot wait to see the firings (Romeo, his entire staff, and Savage), hirings (Mr. Cowher please), player signings (TJ Housh?), releases (most of the defense), and trades (DA, Braylon, K2).

I am just so fed up with the current front office and coaching staff, that it is time to rebuild again. Which I would rather have this happen now, than get tortured with another year or two with the current regime.

I hope you take the time to read this and please consider some of the things that have been said. Change needs to be made, and instead of buying soccer teams, can you please take a look at your football team? The bleeding is bad, and a transfusion is much needed. Thank you for your time.

If I were Randy Lerner...........I would thank God I'm not William Ford, the owner of the WORST franchise in football. One that is devoid of talent everywhere but receiver and is going to go 0-16 this year.

With a little retooling the Browns can contend. It'll take a miracle for the Lions.

If I were Randy Lerner, I would use my money to build a huge bulldozer so I could push the entire city of Cleveland into Lake Erie and do my good deed for mankind. wedgie.gif I would then put up a huge statue of Art Modell where the city used to be. clap.gif

This is from NFL FANNation:

Browns Linked to Bill Cowher, Again
Posted Nov 20th 2008 8:31PM by JJ Cooper (author feed)
Filed under: Browns, Steelers, AFC North, NFL Rumors

For most head coaches in trouble, the clear sign of problems is when the general manager or owner offers a vote of confidence. In Cleveland, Romeo Crennel's problems can always be measured by how many Bill Cowher rumors are floating around.

It's a bad week, so there's another Cowher rumor. Pro Football Talk is reporting that a source told PFT that the Browns have already approached Cowher about the job (sorry Romeo, your firing will come later) and will offer the former Steelers head coach $8 or $9 million for the job.

Hiring Cowher would likely also mean that general manager Phil "Go Root For Buffalo" Savage would either be dumped or demoted to head toilet washer, since Cowher wouldn't come to Cleveland without the power to build his own roster.

Of course, this isn't the first time Cowher, a former Browns player and assistant coach, has been linked to Cleveland. We saw rumors of this earlier this month, in September, and last September. In fact, as long as Cowher isn't head coaching somewhere else and the Browns are still without a Lombardi trophy, we'll hear the rumors. That doesn't mean that there isn't some truth this time (unlike the last several times), but it does mean it's impossible to know what to believe.

Here are my favorites to be in consideration:

Obviously Bill Cowher....I don't think he will take the job personally.
Brian Billick......Former head coach with no job, Ravens connections should Savage stay, was considered prior to being hired by the Ravens.
Jim Fassel.....I hope not but he would be better than what we currently have
Urban Meyer....we failed with previous college coach in Butch Davis, would we try it again having not learned our lesson? Sure..why not make it this guy with Ohio roots.
My personal choice.....My favorite coach...Chuckie...ie Jon Gruden. He would give up the sun and sand to come home to Ohio. Wouldn't he? He played for Dayton and he is the guy who can turn this mess around. Offer him the same Cowher money, give him control of the team, cedar point tickets, whatever, He is the MAN!

Why is Romeo even still here other than he is a nice guy.

THIS FROM CBS SPORTS:

BEREA, Ohio -- Cleveland Browns owner Randy Lerner says he will wait until after the season before deciding on the future of coach Romeo Crennel and general manager Phil Savage.

The reclusive Lerner gave a rare interview Monday and addressed a wide-range of topics. But he steered clear of questions about Crennel or Savage.

The two are under fire with the Browns at 4-7 and out of the playoff picture one year after winning 10 games and sending six players to the Pro Bowl.

Lerner also says he has no plans to sell the franchise he inherited following his father's death in 2002.

The 46-year-old described Sunday's home loss to Houston as "sickening" and says his message to Browns fans was that he is deeply committed to winning.

If I were Mr Lerner I would move the Browns to another city because you will never win a Championship in that hell hole!

Okay, I am not posting any longer on the other Browns thread for reasons already stated. The Browns are terrible and while some my take yesterdays loss as a moral victory, they lost.....in the usual fashion.

I have long said however that the NFL is seemingly like the WWE with correographed endings. Case in point. The Colts being 5.5 point favorites and winning 10-6, meaning the Browns have covered. I suspect most people bet the Colts. At the end of the game with the Browns trying to put together a game winning drive, not likely, but none the less, a pass is thrown to Braylon Edwards. The ball is initially caught by the colts then grabbed by Edwards who then comes down on his knee with colts draped all over him, seemingly downed by contact, when the ball is stripped away by the colts and called a game ending interception. Now being inside two minutes you would think there would have been an automatic review but there wasn't. You would think the announcers and coaches would have said something but no one did. No automatic review, just a knee down game over. Browns cover and likely everyone loses. My question is, did anyone else see this play and wonder why there was no review? They showed the replay one time and it looked like Edwards had both hands on the ball and one knee on the ground before having it taken away by the defender but nothing was said by the announcers. Just wondering if anyone else saw this. Most likely wouldn't have mattered given the time left and no timeouts but it makes you go hmmm.

Gumshoe, I said the same exact thing when I watched the actual play...then saw replay and went ballistic when there wasn't a review.........I blamed that on FAT ALBERT AGAIN!!!. But you know the rest of the season maybe fun to watch and see how it pans out with Dorsey in there. No I am not saying Dorsey will create a QB controversy, but hopefully he plays well enough to show the NEW head coach and GM that DA needs to be gone and Ken can be a decent back up
