Case Studies: Atlanta Falcons 2008. Brand new coach that nobody ever heard of. Rookie QB from that QB factory known as Boston College. Rebuilding right? No, challenging for a division title after being a laughingstock thru the Michael Vick era.
Baltimore Ravens 2008. Brand new coach that everyone thought was his brother...no one heard of him. Rookie QB from that QB factory known as Delaware. Rebuiilding right? No tied for first in the division.
Miami Dolphins 2008. Brand new coach with a gangster last name. Reject QB.....former pothead RB. Rebuilding? Dont think so!
Pittsburgh Steelers 2007/2008. Brand new head coach after winning a superbowl. rebuilding? I don't think so.
My point is that just because you get rid of the head coach who was a terrible choice to begin with doesn't have to doom you to more years of rebuilding. I doubt very much that Bill Cowher will be the next Browns coach but agree that he is what we need given the team is too afraid to make another Crennel type mistake by giving an unknown a chance.
We are likely to end up with Brian Billick who comes from the Phil Savage family tree. Don't know what that will mean for our future. We need a Jim Tressel quality coach. Someone with a winning attitude and "winners manual" who can change a culture of losing. I don't know who that is. The 49ers think that is Mike Singletary. We have hired one bad head coach after another since running Schottenheimer and Bellicheck out of town many years ago. I do believed the Browns are cursed.
Maybe since Fat Albert/Romeo Crennelphant didn't work out we should hire Charlie Weis to run the show. We had Bellicheck and Crennel who's left?

It is our opinion at Cowher09.com that the Browns are in dire need of a head coaching change. Though there are many qualified coaches available, one stands out above the rest.
Bill Cowher has been a marked man in Cleveland for over two decades. He continuously had the success (10 playoff appearances in 15 years) that the Browns could only dream. Just the thought of Cowher becoming the Browns head coach would have been blasphemous…… until now. The reality of the situation is that Cowher is a hell of a coach. He played for the Browns, coached the Browns, and was passed over BY the Browns for our head coaching spot (stupid Belichick). He went to Pittsburgh as his second choice. You can’t blame the guy for wanting to be a head coach!
Now retired, “The Chin” is enjoying learning piano and relaxing down in North Carolina. We can all appreciate this blissful walk into the sunset. However, Cowher has said on several occasions that he still has a strong itch to coach again. His youngest daughter will be leaving for college next fall and he will have an empty nest. Restlessness will set in. If you don’t think the headstrong, psychopathic, adrenalin filled man’s man is dreaming about coming back, then you my friend are crazy.
Please take a few minutes and sign our petition!
The goal is to amass 73,200 signatures. This is symbolic as it is the capacity of Cleveland Browns Stadium. Each signature represents a fan whose seat has been shrouded with disappointment over the years. It is time for the fans to have their voices heard and the Browns to return to excellence!

My prediction: Everytime we are close to an in season firing of Fat Albert, the Browns respond and pull off a victory. With that in mind, Browns 24 Bills 20. Romeo survives another week in the drama known as Browns football.

Buffalo's special teams sure are "special"....
With Quinn-he just seems to have poise....no stupid timeouts-reduced penalties-just seems to run the game better....
Start Harrison at RB!!!!!!!!

Yesterday I actually felt bad for Edwards. I know I am in the minority here-but I thought he was trying...and truly felt bad when he kept dropping the ball.
From Cleveland Browns.com:
Braylon Edwards has no explanations for his drops and inconsistent play, but after Sunday's loss to the Texans he vowed to cure whatever it is that's ailing him and return to top form for the Browns.
"All I can do is work hard," he said. "I love this team. I want to work hard, and I want to get out this slump. All I can do is come in and give everything I have and forget this game.
"I know the fans are very upset at me right now and I can't blame them. I do want people to know I love this game and I love this team. I don't ever go out there and not give my all. I don't ever drop a ball and not care. I care about this team and this game. I care about my coaches and winning for my teammates."
For as poorly as the Browns as a whole played for most of Sunday's game, they were still in the game in the final 10 minutes. Edwards had two dropped passes - one in the endzone - that could have helped the Browns at least make things interesting down the stretch.
"I've been very inconsistent this year," Edwards said. "There are plays out there that definitely can be made and should be made by me. I hold myself to a high standard. Those are catches my teammates depend on me to make."
Edwards had 5 catches for 85 yards, but he caught just one of the eight passes on which he was targeted by Derek Anderson in the fourth quarter.
On the pass to the endzone with 7:49 to go, Edwards was covered tightly by Jacques Reeves, who appeared to have gotten at least a finger on the ball. But Edwards left his feet, juggled it and then got both hands on the ball while coming down.
By the time he hit the ground, though, the ball was out.
"It could have been a touchdown. It should have been a touchdown," Anderson said. "It wasn't, but that happens. I'm going to keep throwing to him and he's going to keep making plays."
"We had the one big play in the first half," Edwards said. "Same thing -- the DB was there. I stepped back caught the ball, 42 yards. Same game. That was what, an hour and a half ago? Then I come back with the drops.
"I don't know what it is. All I know is last year I was one guy. This year I'm a different guy. I have to get back to where I was last year."
Another drop came on second down and 20 at the Texans' 40 when an inside route long enough for first down yardage, but Edwards couldn't come up with it.
"What you see is what you get," Edwards said. "He threw a nice ball. I didn't catch it."
As for what exactly has been the issue or issues with Edwards, he said he's healthy and isn't sure why he's been so inconsistent.
"I was having the training camp of my life," he said. "I was head and shoulders above where I was last year. I was head and shoulders leading this offense. Whatever happened after the surgery (in early August) I've gone the opposite way.
"It's one good game, come back with bad game. One good quarter, come back with a bad quarter. It's not injury. It's not preparation. I'm ready to play. I'm just not getting the job done.
"If I catch the pass in the endzone, it's a different ballgame. I don't know what it is or what's going on. I'm going work hard and work on finishing plays. I have to finish plays.
"My team is calling my number. They're depending on me. I don't know what it is, but I have to go somewhere and get my head together."

Other meaningless observations. Did anyone notice that when DA came in, the penalties for false starts and disorganization started again. DA does have a strong arm but I think his presence in the huddle or lack of causes the entire offense to become even more insecure. How about our alleged defense. How can pro football players who have played the game for so long be such poor tacklers. Bad defensive calls and being out of position are one thing but we continue to miss tackle after tackle. How good is Shawn Rogers. I also kinda feel bad for Edwards...a little. He looks like he needs glasses, maybe he is near sighted, but he doesn't run crisp routes, and looked like he gave up on a couple of them. I think Brady Quinn will be a good QB but he needs real coaching and a real offense that has some sort of plan. Romeo must go today. The entire staff must go at the end of the season. You can turn around a program if you have real coaches who demand discipline and execution. Romeo is obviously a nice guy who most on the team seem to like but he is not a capable head coach and he has had plenty of time. After yesterday, if it wasn't clear already, this team needs a serious wake up call and it starts at the top, Savage included.
I don't know if Bill Cowher will come to Cleveland or be able to turn the team around but this team needs a proven winner and someone who knows how to win and how to build a team. A Cowher type coach will at least die trying. Oh yea, the Steelers made a coaching change and didn't miss a beat. Romeo and Charlie Weis enough said.

So let me get this straight.
Ben hits a car riding his motorcycle without a helmet goint 40 mph, yet is back in time for training camp.
Kellen is doing wheelies in a parking lot, with a helmet going about 10 mph, and misses basically two years......sounds about right
Now, Brady hurts his finger and hes out 2 freaking months....when will this end. You cannot make this stuff up its so freakin hilarious.
Cursed! End of Story!
