18-1-1 Akron Hoban will be going after another shot at the regional semi's against 18-1-1 Memorial St.Marys at Lexington HS 7:00 Wednesday. This game should be a dandy and I'm hoping the those roughriders thump those Hoban's!!!! The thing I noticed about Hoban last year was the speed their defenders had who pretty much made our offense look non-exsistant......

Go St.Marys from the LB Eagles!!! Let's represent NW Ohio!!!!

Get ready for the dumbest fans in the state. Akron Hoban has the poorest sportsmanship, the dumbest fans, and an inability to remain cival if they don't win. Bring your battle armor for this one. I hope I am wrong. Evertime I have seen them, CLASSY! Good Luck St. Mary's! boxing.gif

Smart A,

I normally don't like to bash schools but I have to agree with your comment.....When LB lost 1-0 to Akron last year the Hoban coach gave absolutely no credit whatsoever to the LB team!! They were so arrogant plus as they say a better than thou attitude referring to LB as some little kicker NW Ohio school trying to play soccer with big girls.....So please beat there little be hinds St.Marys!!!!

St Mary's will need to play more physical and mix up there shots a little. Work in some out side shooting if there is some wind take advantage of a 20 to 30 yard shot.

All I want to say about this game is nobody outside of St. Marys gives them a chance to win this game....Hopefully the roughriders prevail!!! David did conquer the giant, so can you St.Marys!!!!

Grace,
Which would be a bigger upset:
Memorial beating Hoban or Lake beating LB?

Man giver your making me really think!! Based on seeing Hoban last year and watching Memorial last summer I would probably go with the Memorial/Hoban game but that is only my opinion. Also on my limited knowledge on state final teams when was the last time a NW Ohio team has ever made it to the final four? I am guessing never or at least in the recent years. Believe me Indianagiver I want memorial to beat Hoban really bad and the two reasons are Hoban does and will not show respect for any NW Ohio D-2 soccer team plus I want either lake, LB or Memorial to make into the final four......Now you know I want LB to be there before the other two, right???

Millbury Lake has no chance..........

Memorial HS has a slim chance......

and I don't believe that a NW girls team (maybe a Sylvania N'view or Ursula) has made a final 4 and won't in the future.....the closest was OG, once getting beat in a SO........and another time in OT..........zoooom

Gracelikerain,
upon further review..............

No team from the NW Ohio has ever represented in D2...........

2 teams, Lexington in '01, and Tol. St. Ursula in '04 in D1....(neither team won a game)

that's it...........history is doomed to repeat itself.........zooooom

It is always the safe and easy way to state what is probable and then say "told ya so". Champions , on the other hand, are not afraid to go out on a limb and believe. Because without that beliefe, nothing else matters.

and so it goes for NW Ohio girls soccer............and the same can probably be said for NW boys also, although there have been a few more teams make it...........never really a chance to win it........zooooom
