Is the PCL this year going to be a rebuilding year for most teams or
is there going to be some players emerging from the shadows and
making statements this year?

I guess I am confused by your question. Normally when you are rebuilding that is when you have those players emerging from the shadows because you don't have the expected all star. For the most part, C-town will have about half to 3/4 of the starters back from last year with hopefully a few kids coming out that could make an impact once they adjust to HS baseball. I believe we only lost Ben Miller SS/P/C and Dustin Ladd CF, but both of those were key parts to the defense. We do have a quality pitcher back in Nik Louiselle who had a nice summer with the Ottawa Legion.

As far as PCL champ, I think Ft. Jennings and Kalida will battle for the top though.

Yes, I think the PCL will be "lesser" this year. Many teams will have to step up to repeat their performances of the past few years. Many quality players graduated last year, hopefully some underclassmen will step up. Here is how I see it.

Kalida lost a ton. Not only with Ross G, but Vonder Embse, Rampe, Smith.
Ft. Jennings lost a ton. Weber, Utrup, Stechschulte, Chandler.
Ottoville loses some, too. Gasser, Miller (The two I can think of) I think they lost the least, so far.

I'm not sure about P-G's losses. I know Blaski and Howell will be back, but is that enough?
CG- Neu is gone. Who else?
Leipsic- don't know
Conti- Lost Miller, but will have back a few good guys (Louiselle, but that is not enough.

I see the PCL being "lesser" this year. Many quality 3-4 year Lettermen lost to graduation.

Of all the teams in the PCL then which one(s) has a chance to "reload" instead of "rebuild". (Elaborate as to why you think so) Also, Miller City was missed in the thought above-I personally think they are a year away from being seriously considered. I assume by this posting that the PCL run of good/excellent teams is over then correct?

OOPs.. I didn't realize I forgot MC. I was even thinking about them as I was posting. Hermiller was a huge part of them the past couple of years and will be missed. He was scary at the plate! I'm not sure who else they have back. Anyone from MC, let me know.

My post did not say anything about the PCL run of good teams being over. What it says is that the PCL lost numerous players that were multiple year Letterman. The post said that for many schools to repeat their past recent performances they will need underclasmen from previous years to step up.

I referred to the PCL as possibly being "lesser". I did not say anything about being DOWN. If any conference graduates a 3 year Player of the Year, as well as all of the other 3-4 year letterman that were close candidates to Guisinger, it is gonna be lesser. The "household" names of the past few years are gone, but that does not mean that someone new cannot step up. I even referred to this.

Yes, I stand by my point that I "think" the PCL will be LESSER this year.

Break out players for this year (again, my opinion)
Ross Gerdeman/Ft. Jennings (chance to be the ace of league)
Koch/Ottovile (has hit like an animal as frosh & soph)
Louiselle/Conti (lack of supporting cast may hurt his overall performance, however)
Blaski/PG (darn good ballplayer)

Those are my picks for this year.

Add Wenzinger and Vennekotter from Miller City and Bogart and Wolfe from Col. Grove and Basinger and Kleman from Kalida (by the way I'm not sure but I think most if not all of your and my names are underclassmen even this year.) I guess this means if the PCL is down it won't be for long.

There is also a player name Osterhage from Grove thats not to bad either. And how about the Basinger kid from Ottoville pretty good little pitcher and hitter , he is the leader for his team also Niemeyer can be a good pitcher also. Leipsic has another Schroder that is not to bad either.

Grove has Wolfe catching, pretty good hitter nice arm....Bogart, Osterhage, and Hovest pitching...and a solid outfielder in Jesse Maag...freshmen last year and did a good job of leading the outfield. i see him making a big impact this year as a sophomore.

Derek Mangas at Leipsic should see some time. He also is a starter on the football and Basketball teams as a freshman.

Miller City should suprise some people this year. They have a great amount of talent in the younger grades, and are almost as talented as they are in basketball. Which is saying something because they are very talented in basketball. That is the great thing about ACME, even though MC lost 8 seniors they are still experienced because they played together all summer. Some People to look for:

Kirk Meyer: senior Pitcher( if he can throw strikes)
Rusty Lammers: Soph. SS/P great fielder, can pitch, and can hit
Mitch Wenzinger: Junior P/C/SS very versatile, good hitter, probably their ace
Cody Vennekotter: Soph. C/3B very reliable fielder and can hit
Lee Drummlesmith: Soph. OF has the best arm i have ever seen
Tony Schroeder: OF very reliable outfielder and is fast on the bases
Seth Lammers: Played baseball in Florida this winter, fast and can get on base

With Miller City's Strength always being Defense, they will have to work on their hitting to be a really good team, because their defense will be there.

The athletes in the PCL appear to be in the younger grades, so I would predict a "down" year for the league.

If this is the same Mangas that the Leipsic pony league team brought up from the little league team to play tournaments two or three years ago it's hard to believe it wouldn't be. That kid was just smooth, both in the field and at the dish, especially impressive considering the age differance.
