STEPHANIE SANDERS was ALL STATE as a FRESHMAN for the BATH WILDKITTENS GIRLS SOFTBALL TEAM. She is getting a lot of inquiries from D-1 schools. BIG TEN, MAC, SEC

Yes, she is a very good softball player. She had a 3 HR game last year, pretty impressive. Last year, she was their catcher, but she pitched in middle school. Is there any plans for her to return to the circle?

I am not sure about her returning to the circle as a pitcher. I never knew she pitched. I observed her playing catcher during the summer. There was a lot interest from D-1 scouts at Nationals last year. She just happened to have another great game and tournament, when several D-1 scouts from all over the nation were in attendance. She threw a couple of runners out, and went 2-3 with a home run, when most of the scouts were gathered at one particular game. I just wondered if the high school team she is on will be good next year, and if they have a good chance to go to State. Her summer team coach said she attended Lima Bath HS. Thanks for the information.

The Fastpitch talk is starting..... I Love It!!!!!

Will Bath be good? Yes, they always are. Sanders and Amanda Ricker are just two of the returning players that come to mind, but I can assure you that Coach Ford will get the best out of all of her players and she will put a very competitive team on the field.

Will Bath go to State? I don't know. Bath for years has been THE team in fastpitch. But, lately the other schools in the area are closing the ground between them. Celina, Shawnee, St. Mary's, and Wapak are just some of the schools that have really improved their program in the last couple of years and could give Bath a run.

I hope to get to see all of those girls play next year. Have Ricker and Thonsberry been getting any attention from scouts? Do you know what grade they are in ? Thanks.

Ricker is a Senior, and Thornsberry is a Junior.

The games that Ricker played with me this summer was at a college showcase down in Dalton, GA, and she got some attention down there. I don't know if she has talked to anyone locally. I would guess that Thornsberry has received some attention. As I said, she was pretty dominate last season and she took the 'Riders to the State Finals. But I don't know for sure.

Sanders is a very good softball player but the 3 home runs was against a team that did not have very good pitching the pitcher pitched the ball the same place all 3 times as the coach of the other team i would of pitched something else after the 1st home run. As far as the wildkittens they will have a good team again this year like always. Their pitcher is also a stand out Shelby does a great job in the circle and has come a long ways with her hitting also. Everything should come together for the KITTENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know much about Thonsberry but as for Ricker I know she has 3 college visits on the way. She has to start at the Junior College level but I heard she is working hard to step up to a higher level. She is going to a visit in Iowa and I know a school in southern Ohio. So we will see.

Well, I have seen Sanders hit the best pitchers. It doesn't matter if the pitcher was the best or not...three homeruns has NEVER been done by another player. That is a STATE record. And, she was only a FRESHMAN! I am sure many others faced the same pitcher, in the same game, and during the season, and did not hit three,....two,....or one home run against the same pitcher Sanders faced when she set the state record.

I don't think she will pitch this year, Bath has their #1 and #2 pitcher returning. Maybe next year.
