So now that the season is over, who do you think will be player of the year and on 1st team?

Ada: Danny Clum, Corey Vaughn, Trevor Kline.

I would guess that the POY would come from one of the champs.

POY will come down to either #1 from CR (Levi Benner i think) and #8(i think) Shuck from Riverdale most likely

Herrera has had a good year but i went to a few of the games and the benner kid impressed me the most out of everyone on the team. Herrea is the vocal leader but he has been plagued with injuries this season.

Either way, the POY should come from either CR or Riverdale

so what you are saying is that since he has had injuries he doesn't deserve POY.....

Whats does it take to be POY?

Herrera has played his heart out every game and on top of that with injury and still almost has the same amount of goals and assist as Benner.... and I believe Benner is a forward and Herrera is a central mid...Herrera was the only Jr. last year to be 1st team All District and missing All-Ohio by one place on the ballet and was second in voting in the NCOSA to not get POY to older Shuck. He's been the heart in soul for CR for the past three years. When Herrera is not in the game CR play is very slappy.. Playing the way Herrera did this year with the injuries he has had takes a lot of heart and dedication and if that is not POY material then what is?

Here's a crazy idea. Co players of the year for Herrera and Benner.

The only other player I've seen that should be in consideration of it would be the younger Gill from Riverdale #12 I believe. He doesn't have impressive stats, but wow what a player.

Im not saying Herrera shouldn't get POY. But by your logic, you think he should be getting POY because of his past awards? POY means THIS year and Benner has had a better year.

Certainly Herrera should be and will be in the running for POY, but i believe Benner has had the better year meaning he should be awarded with POY.

My logic is that with the Injuries that Herrera has had he still had as good as season as Benner and that injuries should not matter when it comes down to voting a POY.

Here's a thought imagine if Herrera didn't have any Injuries would we be agruing about this right now...

I guess co-poy.. co-champs.. kinda would make sense..

Yeah little Gill is a very good player.. look for him and Clum to be in the running for POY next year.

The way they vote, no way will there be a co-POY.

Do not look at past awards, or EVEN class of the players. Its that current year. I thought that Blake Pifer should have won his Junior year, but there were two very good seniors from other teams who garnered more votes though we had beaten both teams mostly because of Pifer.

Are we talking about NCOSA here? The voting is POY for the NCOSA league. And from what I know, Herrera had an outstanding season in the NCOSA league. For playing Center Mid, I'd say he did one heck of a job to get about the same number of stats as Benner did, who plays at the forward position. Playing center mid can be a little harder to score from that position than a forward. Do you know what a center mid position is? If Herrera played forward all the time, I'm sure his stats would be more than they are right now.

All in all, both of them did really good this year.

Just because I dont think he should be POY doesn't mean i think he is a terrible player. I seen him play quite a few times this year and he is definitely an outstanding player.

The POY should be voted upon using the skill of the player. Not the stats. My niece that's not even a year old yet could go and score acouple dozens of goals on very weak teams and would she be considered into being POY just cause it says Goals: 42

It should be about skill, but does it really work that way? I'm sure that somewhere along the line they do look at stats.

The fact that Herrera is a talented and skilled player has already been established.

And great for your niece if she can already play soccer.
